Pilot Testing

From the laboratory, we moved our technology directly into practice. In a pilot test with 30 liters of water, the floating photocatalytic composite demonstrated both durability and the ability to operate using only natural sunlight.

As a model pollutant, we used potassium hydrogen phthalate — safe, easily soluble, and light-stable. This allowed us to simulate real conditions while testing higher concentrations than those typically found for micropollutants in water.

The result? A reliable material capable of performing outdoors, beyond laboratory conditions.

Results from the two-day pilot test confirm that ordinary sunlight is sufficient to activate the photocatalyst — and pollutant degradation correlates directly with the solar radiation incident on the composite’s surface.
